Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla laid the foundation stone for a coking and diesel production facility at the Suez Refinery.
The project comes within the framework of the ministry’s strategy to develop oil refineries in Suez through enhancements in efficiency and production capacity. The complex will be established with a total investment cost of around $1.77 billion.
El Molla stated that this complex aims to maximize the production capacities of high-value petroleum products with international specifications, especially butane and diesel.
It should be noted that the minister also inspected other facilities, including the asphalt production plant as well as the atmospheric distillation unit. Most importantly, he inaugurated the new staff building at the Nasr Petroleum Refinery and the Central Emergency Room in the petroleum geographical region in Suez.
