El Molla Launches PMRD 22nd Conference, Exhibition

Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla, launched the 22nd International Conference and Exhibition on Petroleum, Mineral Resources, and Development (PMRD) on February 26th, under the theme of ‘Egypt- Africa Towards Development’, Egypt Oil & Gas reports.

State-of-the-art technology is important for the Egyptian oil and gas industry as it plays a vital role in securing energy for development programs and contribute to achieving targeted growth levels for the Egyptian economy, El Molla said in his speech in the opening ceremony.

The minister pointed out the importance of adopting scientific approaches, studying and analyzing the changes in the petroleum industry in order to cope with recent developments’ activities.

The event is organized by the Egyptian Petroleum Research Institute (EPRI) and attended by Abbas Al-Naqi, Secretary General at Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC); Abdullah Al-Khattari, Republic of Chad Ambassador in Egypt; Yasser Moustafa, Director of IPRI; and a number of university heads and oil and gas leaders.

The oil and gas sector’s strategy serves Egypt’s vision 2030 for achieving sustainable development, especially regarding making use of natural resources, El Molla noted.

The Modernization Project is going on steady steps to continue achieving tangible results in the fields of attracting investments and supporting human resources’ efficiency, which will have a positive impact on the oil and gas development efforts.
