El Molla highlighted the importance of the school and the specialized educational services it provides in practice, application, and technology that are related to the industry. The minister stated that it is one of the important fruits of the work strategy of the Supreme Committee for Social Responsibility in the petroleum sector in the field of industrial technical education, in which we take into account achieving the maximum benefit for the surrounding community through projects related to the needs and the reality of these societies.
El Molla said that despite its newness, the school was able to obtain first place in the Republic Skills Competition and compete in the World Skills Competition, and was nominated for the applied events held in Lyon, France, next September. The school represents an added value to Port Said Governorate in light of the petroleum production and manufacturing projects there
The school, established under the supervision of the Ministries of Education and the Ministries of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, in coordination with the Italian Eni and the El Sewedy Foundation, comes within the framework of the Egyptian state’s plan to promote technical education.
The school is operated with a maximum capacity of more than 800 students in four academic specializations in information technology, networks, and maintenance of mechanical and electrical energy equipment, with the addition of another specialization, which is converting cars to natural gas in cooperation with Gastec Company.
The Minister further inspected the Center of Excellence project (second phase). The project is located within the space of the Zohr School of Applied Technology and aims to hone the youth and technical workforce in Port Said Governorate with the special skills and necessary practical training and serve workers in about 30 companies.
