El Molla Inaugurates New Natural Gas Station in El Waily

The Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla, inaugurated a new integrated natural gas station, Manar Misr Petroleum – The Egyptian International Gas Technology (Gastec), in El Waily area, as part of the presidential initiative to convert cars to run on natural gas.

Abdel Fattah Farahat, the Chairman of Gastec, stated that the natural gas in the station has an operational capacity of 750 cubic meters per hour with a capacity to supply about 750 cars with natural gas per day. He also mentioned that the station is characterized by utilizing an advanced form of gas dispensers suspended in the charging stations in order to provide spaces in the supply area and increase the safety rates. It also includes a conversion center for cars to run on natural gas, with a capacity of converting about 10 cars per day, using the latest technologies and conversion tools that suit various types of modern cars.

For his part, Mohamed Shabaan, Chairman of Misr Petroleum Company, explained that the integrated station is built on an area of 2,500 meters and its storage capacity is about 70,000 liters of various types of fuel.

El Molla stated that the ministry plans to increase the number of natural gas stations in various governorates and on highways. He also pointed out that this station has been developed with a vision to keep pace with the future, as after its development it began to provide natural gas supply services, liquefied oil, electric charging and supplying natural gas compressed tankers to feed industrial and commercial facilities.
