During an inspection visit to Wood Technology Company’s (WOTECH) medium-density fiberboard (MDF) in Idku, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla emphasized that this project will help promote self-sufficiency in meeting local market needs and spread job opportunities.
While giving a tour of the newly developing EGP 5.5 billion facility, WOTECH Chairman Ahmed Baraka stated that the plant is expected to produce 205,000 cubic meters of high-quality MDF using cutting-edge German technology. The project enables control of density, volume, solidness and colors of the wood which can be used in several industries such as furniture, doors, decorations and kitchens, Baraka noted.
It should be noted that the plant is an Egyptian investment by Egyptian Petrochemical Holding Company (ECHEM) , Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC), Sidi Keriri Petrochemicals Company (SIDPEC), and Petrojet.
