Minster of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla met with HiiROC’s CEO Tim Davies and the company’s Director & Head in the MENA region Derek Saunders to explore means of cooperation in hydrogen technologies.

During the meeting, El Molla affirmed that the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources (MoPMR) attaches importance to carbon emissions reduction projects and energy transition as well as benefiting from the best expertise and practices provided by international companies in this field. 

He praised the company’s innovative solution for low carbon hydrogen production by using flare gas which is still in the trial phase. 

The minister also welcomed to continue the cooperation with HiiROC within the framework of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed with the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) on the sidelines of the Decarbonization Day during COP27.
