The meeting reviewed Eni’s projects which have demonstrated remarkable success over the past period. Furthermore, both parties discussed ways to enhance cooperation in all fields in a way that contributes to the achievement of development goals.

El Molla stressed the importance of the strategic partnership between the petroleum sector and Eni, which resulted in many achievements over the past years. Regarding liquefied natural gas (LNG), he referred to the joint efforts exerted to speed up the restart of the Damietta LNG Export Facility, which is deemed an important step towards transforming Egypt into a regional hub for energy.

For his part, Descalzi highlighted the company’s readiness to conduct technical and economic studies for the project to transport and store carbon dioxide emissions from industrial activities for wells. It is worth noting that the project resembles the HyNet North West integrated project, which is implemented by Eni in Britain.
