El Molla: Energy Plans Must Adapt to Global Economy

Egypt must adapt its energy plans to global economic challenges, the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla, said, Egypt Oil & Gas reports.

Changes in the international economy, he noted, impose significant challenges even as Egypt seeks to transform itself into a regional energy hub.

To respond to these challenges, the minister said that Egypt must adopt new methods to maximize both economic growth and its regional role.

El Molla argued that Egypt’s geographical location and its massive natural gas discoveries will help the country achieve its aim.

The remarks were made during a conference organized by Al Ahram, the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, and the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy. The conference was held under the patronage of the Prime Minister, Sherif Ismail.
