Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla has met with Mathios Rigas, CEO of Energean.

The meeting discussed the company’s plans during the coming period to develop and increase natural gas production from its areas of operation in Egypt in the Mediterranean region.

Moreover, the meeting reviewed ways to support cooperation on removing carbon from the various stages of the natural gas value chain, in a way that supports the competitiveness of natural gas produced from the fields of the Eastern Mediterranean region.

Rigas highlighted the company’s commitment to continuing to pump more investments to maximize the exploitation of gas resources from the Mediterranean basin region. This region is a major center for its operations, especially in light of the policies of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources that support motivating international companies to pump investments and implement ambitious plans in the field of developing discovered fields or expanding new activities for research and exploration to reach new discoveries.
