El Molla: Egypt’s Flexible Mining Strategy Attracts International Investments, Expertise

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla affirmed that Egypt has succeeded in attracting international investments and various expertise through the launch of a flexible strategy to maximize the use of its mineral resources.

El Molla’s remarks came during his participation in a dialogue session entitled “The Mining and Exploration of the Egyptian Nubian Shield” on the sidelines of of the British Egyptian Business Association (BEBA) event in London.

The minister added that efforts should be made to build upon the momentum of this success, noting that Egypt is working smoothly to double these investments supported by a great amount of mineral resources.

El Molla also pointed to the support provided by political leadership and the government to boost mining investments and the efforts to develop the mining sector in Egypt in the light of the strategy of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, which was launched in 2018 to increase the mining sector’s contribution in the domestic product to 5%.

Moreover, the minister highlighted the amendments that were made to the mining law and licensing.
