El Molla Discusses Ways to Reinforce Cooperation with Iraqi Industry Minister

The Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla, and the Iraqi Minister of Industry and Minerals, Manhal Aziz, have discussed ways of bilateral cooperation in the mining sector during the upcoming period and how to benefit from the Egyptian experience and the big opportunities in the Iraqi market, according to a press release.

El Molla highlighted the robust ties between the two countries which are supported by the leadership in both countries noting that the mining activities, resources exploitation and relative practices are at the heart of the economic cooperation between the two countries.

The two ministers showcased the progress relating to the formation of a joint teamwork of experts from Ministries of Mining Resources, Industry and Trade, Military Production, and the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) who will head to Iraq searching for possible cooperation and investment chances.

El Molla highlighted the current developments in the Egyptian Mining sector. He expressed the readiness of his ministry to offer its expertise in the mining sector to the Iraqi side through exchanging information and conducting trainings for Iraqi employees.

For his part, Aziz expressed hopes to expand cooperation with Egypt in mining and industry, referring to the significant role that Egypt can play in helping Iraq to put the policies  for achieving resources sustainability. He emphasized the importance of exchanging experiences and information related to the mining sector between the Iraq Geological Survey (GEOSURV) and the Egyptian Mineral Resources General Authority in addition to how to the  transfer of the Egyptian experience in amending and issuing efficient laws on exploiting mineral resources.
