Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla held bilateral talks with the Palestinian President’s Economic Advisor Mohammad Mustafa to discuss boosting joint cooperation in the oil and gas industry, the Ministry said in a statement.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the sixth ministerial meeting of the East Mediterranean Gas Forum (EMGF), held in Cairo on November 25th.
The two leaders discussed putting forward ideas and visions to boost energy cooperation, and to enhance cooperation in wealth and natural resources, especially in natural gas.
Egypt does not hesitate to provide all aspects of support to the development of the Palestinian economy, El Molla said. He pointed out the importance of the EMGF in facilitating natural gas exploitation in the member states.
The meeting also reviewed projects that they agreed to implement and will be beneficial to the Palestinian economy. Mustafa, also being the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Palestine Investment Fund, noted the importance of Egyptian expertise in contributing to the cooperation that they are expected to agree upon.
