Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla, chaired the third regular meeting of the Supreme Operations Committee for Production in the Eastern Desert, which included the General Petroleum Company (GPC), Al Fanar Petroleum, Magawish Petroleum, Wadi El Sahl Petroleum Company (WASPETCO), and PetroAmir.
The meeting aimed to review and determine the progress of implementing the production programs of those companies that work according to an integrated plan to increase rates and improve production.
During the meeting, El Molla highlighted the importance of using the existing facilities in the region and accelerating the implementation of the necessary facilities to accelerate the increase in production from the areas where these companies operate in the Eastern Desert.
El Molla stated that the Supreme Committee for Production Operations has all the necessary support to achieve the planned production goals in the short and medium term and provide the necessary flexibility to face any challenges that may arise.
During the meeting, Nabil Abdel Sadiq, GPC’ Chairman and Chairman of the Eastern Desert Committee; Abd El Lateef Negm, Chairman of PetroAmir Company; Zaka’a Mowad, Chairman of Al Fanar Petroleum Company; Mohamed Hassan, Chairman of Magawish Petroleum Company; and Ashraf Zakaria, WASPETCO’s Chairman reviewed the challenges, procedures, short-, medium- and long-term plans to increase production and existing petroleum potentials and to exploit existing facilities in the region.
The meeting further reviewed drilling and repair plans, completion of well development, and procedures to improve production, environmental compatibility and rationalize spending as global standards to which the petroleum industry adheres.
