Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla, chaired the first general assembly of Modern Gas company, the Ministry said in a statement.
The meeting was held via video conference to discuss and review the company’s work plans in the field of natural gas delivery in nine governorates across the country after its establishment as a result of the merger of the Cairo Gas, Regions Gas and Sinai Gas.
During the meeting, El Molla affirmed that the projects of delivering natural gas to homes and replacing butane, which are implemented by the petroleum sector in all parts of Egypt, enjoy the follow-up and support of the political leadership and the government because these projects are of great importance in providing a civilized service and a decent life for citizens.
The oil and gas sector implements the projects of delivering natural gas on more than one axis, including the national project to deliver gas to households and the project to deliver gas to villages, the Decent Life (Hayah Karima) Initiative to develop the Egyptian countryside, in addition to delivering gas to modern communities established by the state in the administrative capital and the new Al almein within the framework of the national projects plan, El Molla noted.
“The main purpose of establishing Modern Gas Company, after implementing the merger plan for the three companies, is to find a large successful entity to raise the efficiency of performance in projects to deliver natural gas to homes and cities in line with the objectives of the project to develop and modernize the petroleum sector,” El Molla explained.
