El Molla Chaired Energy Hub Meeting

A press release to Egypt Oil&Gas stated that the the higher committee for transferring Egypt into a regional energy hub held its first meeting chaired by the Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla, and attended by representatives from different ministries.

El Molla pointed out that the committee is assigned to create a strategy in order to turn Egypt into a regional energy hub. Furthermore, the committee will work on setting mechanisms and timeframes for providing the initiative with necessary operational and logistic support, as well as consultancy in order to over come all foreseeable obstacles. The committee aims to coordinate between the ministry of petroleum and the other ministries, along with the related authorities.

El Molla concluded that the energy vision should adapt to economic changes that impose huge challenges on Egypt. Therefore, the country will follow a strategy based on analysis and studies of the infrastructure of the oil and gas sector, as well as the electricity sector, especially since Egypt has potentials to be the energy regional hub.
