Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla awarded 22 trainee geologists from the Egyptian Mineral Resources Authority (EMRA) certificates for passing the JORC Code course.
The JORC Code program is a specialized technical training program provided by the petroleum and mineral resources sector through its global partners from international companies and institutions, such as Japan’s JICA, the World Bank and other bodies interested in training and development.
In this occasion, El Molla emphasized that the developments witnessed by the mining sector began with the amendment of the Mineral Resources Law. This is in addition to developing mining human cadres to enhance the overall performance of the sector.
Training the EMRA’s geologists is an important step to building the capacities of workers and the mining industry as a whole, El Molla noted.
