Egypt’s Consumption, Production of Hydrocarbons Falls

Consumption of crude oil, condensates, and butane fell to 3.02 million tons in June from 3.49 million tons in June 2016, a year-on-year (y-o-y) decline of 13.5%, Egypt Oil & Gas reports.

Egypt’s production also decreased.

In June, Egypt produced 2.7 million tons of crude oil, condensates, and butane, a 4.3% y-o-y decrease from the 2.82 million tons it produced in June 2016, according to the statistics of the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).

Butane imports fell to 147,600 tons from the 182,900 tons imported in June 2016, a 23.9% y-o-y decrease.

In July, Egypt produced approximately 1 million cylinders of butane per day, a decrease of 35,000 tons from its monthly average during the first half of the year.
