On the sidelines of ADIPEC 2024, Salah Abdel Kerim, Chairman of the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC), and Ihab Ragai, First Undersecretary of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources (MoPMR) for Production, held multiple meetings with leaders of international companies collaborating with Egypt’s petroleum sector on various projects.
In the meeting with the Weatherford delegation, discussions focused on strengthening cooperation in technical services for field development and production enhancement. The Weatherford team also showcased advanced technological solutions for aging fields and equipment designed to boost production efficiency, aligning with the goals of Egypt’s petroleum sector.
In parallel, the meeting with China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) explored opportunities to expand exploration activities in Egypt and to share expertise in production and field development.
Abdel Kerim and Ragai further met with Hans Drenth, Managing Director of Solar Turbines, specializing in energy solutions, where they discussed opportunities for applying gas turbine technology to improve energy consumption efficiency in oil fields in Egypt. The meeting tackled how to exploit solar turbines to reduce energy consumption and achieve sustainable production, in line with Egypt’s vision to support modern technologies in the petroleum sector.
In a meeting with a delegation from Halliburton, the oil experts reviewed the advanced technological solutions provided by Halliburton in the fields of drilling and production improvement, especially in mature fields. The two parties also discussed the possibilities of expanding cooperation to provide technical support and advanced services that contribute to enhancing oil and gas exploration and production operations in Egypt, in line with the national strategy to increase production rates and adopt the latest technologies.
The two Egyptian officials further met with the CEO of AlKhorayef Company and the Executive Vice President of the Technology and Strategy Sector at Al Masaood Company from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The meeting reviewed opportunities for cooperation in infrastructure projects and oil field development, in addition to exchanging expertise in the fields of manufacturing and technical services. The two Saudi companies expressed their desire to provide the latest solutions to support the expansion of the Egyptian petroleum sector, which would contribute to enhancing regional integration and developing petroleum resources in Egypt and the region.
