Egypt, World Bank Explore Joint Efforts in Natural Gas, Renewables

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla met with Guangzhe Chen, Vice President of the World Bank for Infrastructure, to boost cooperation in various energy fields.

During the meeting, El Molla acknowledged the importance of cooperation with the World Bank in delivering natural gas which benefited many households across Egypt.

He emphasized the necessity of expanding this cooperation in various fields, such as converting vehicles to run on natural gas and hydrogen production.

For his part, Guangzhe noted the bank’s interest in financing renewable energies, especially green hydrogen. He praised the support of the East Mediterranean Gas Forum and its role in promoting regional cooperation. He also expressed his delight with the bank’s collaboration with Egypt in multiple sectors.
