The Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) aims to turn 40,000 vehicles into gas-powered ones during fiscal year (FY) 2019/20, an official source at the company told Amwal Al Ghad.
Egypt will finish establishing 17 new filling stations that will provide cars with natural gas by the end of June 2020, in respect to an expansion project that aims to turn vehicles into gas-powered ones, the source noted.
The total number of gas-powered vehicles reached 270,000, which are served through 190 filing stations across the country. This comes as the government seeks to have natural gas as an alternative fuel to decrease the consumption of gasoline and diesel.
