A number of local and foreign investors were awarded a mega solar energy project in Al Minya Governorate, Amwal Al Ghad reported.
The project will be established on 15,000 feddan on the Beni Mazar-Boyty road, which links the new industrial zone and the 1.5 million acres project.
The Minya project will generate 600 Megawatt (MW) from solar energy. The investing companies will secure all the needed cost, without involving the country with any cost. The Minya project will be the largest electricity producing projects un Upper Egypt, it will open many job vacancies in Minya, and it will train employees to install similar power plants to reduce plants installation costs.
Meanwhile, Minya Governor, Essam El Bedewy, stated that he has not received any notification of the solar energy project yet, adding that the governorate received many offers from investors to produce electricity from both solar resources and wind farms.
