Egypt to Develop Petroleum Facilities in Alexandria Port

The Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla, has agreed with the Minister of Transportation, Kamel El Wazeer to develop the efficiency  of Petroleum facilities in Alexandria port.

During the meeting, the two ministers agreed to develop five berths dedicated to loading and unloading petroleum products as well as supply cargoes. This development will achieve optimum operations, and enhance the port’s capabilities. It was also agreed that Petrojet will implement this project.

Additionally, the two ministers discussed the cooperation between oil sector companies and Alexandria Port Authority to maximize the benefits from the French and Dekheila terminals. In addition, the two ministers also discussed ways to modify the petroleum products pipelines in some port development projects, which includes logistic area establishment in Alexandria port.

It was also agreed to form a periodic follow-up committee on the project’s implementation headed by the two ministers.
