Egypt to Convert 300 Public Buses to Run on Natural Gas

The Head of Public Transportation Authority, Rezk Ali said that the authority is going to sign contracts to convert 300 buses running on diesel to run on natural gas in cooperation with the Military Factory 200 after the success of converting the first bus, Al Mal reported.

Rezk added that the cost of conversion stands at EGP500,00 per bus so the total cost will reach EGP 150 million at the first phase. He noted that the authority is targeting to convert its fleet of more than 3,500 diesel-run buses.

The Head of the authority asserted that working time for converting the fleet will be shortened to two years instead of four, pointing out that the conversion one bus will save EGP 100,000 a year.
