Egypt is set to have a total of 10.5 million households across its governorates connected to the natural gas national grid by the end of 2019, an official source at the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) told Amwal Al Ghad.
The country has linked a total of 9.6 million households to the national gas grid so far since the project’s initiation to the beginning of 2019, the source noted.
Egypt’s natural gas total production increased by around 300 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscf/d), reaching around 6.9 billion cubic feet per day (bcf/d), Amwal Al Ghad reported earlier.
Egypt secures its projects’ natural gas needs, especially in the sectors that consume gas the most, such as the electricity; residential and industrial sectors.
