Egypt Signs Engineering Consulting Contract Phosphoric Acid Project

Engineering for the Petroleum & Process Industries (Enppi)’s Head, Mohamed Hathout, signed an engineering consulting contract with Juansimon Arteaga Puente, Senior Manager of Business Development of Middle East and North Africa at Fluor Corporation, for the phosphoric acid production project, which is being implemented in Abu Tartour area at the New Valley governorate, Egypt Oil & Gas reports.

The contract was signed in the presence of Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla. The phosphoric production project’s investment cost reaches $750 million with 1 million tons annual production capacity of phosphoric acid.

According to the contract, Enppi will coordinate with Fluor to receive and evaluate the bids submitted for the project’s tender to choose the general contractor for implementing the project by the turkey system, Hathout stated.

Additionally, Enppi will undertake the tasks of responding to queries, coordinating with suppliers of operating licenses and suppliers, coordinating connection to storage, receipt, shipping and export services, on behalf of the project’s owner.

The project is a good step towards the county’s strategy to establish huge projects that will maximize the added value of minerals and achieve huge revenues of manufacturing them, El Molla pointed out after the signing.
