Egypt Signs 63 Petroleum Agreements in Four Years: El Molla

Egypt has signed 63 petroleum agreements over the past four years with around $14 billion of investment, according to Minister of Petroleum Tarek El Molla, Egypt Oil & Gas reports.

El Molla revealed the figure during the second Al Ahram Energy Conference entitled ‘Future Energy & Sustainable Development (Egypt Vision 2030)’.

Egypt has conducted large geophysical data collection projects in the Red Sea ahead of the upcoming exploration and production bid round, El Molla said, adding the Upper Egypt has also been extensively surveyed.

El Molla also confirmed that the oil and gas sector is carrying out a clear strategy to achieve Egypt’s Vision 2030. The ministry’s targets include guaranteeing energy safety, boosting the sector’s GDP, embarking on structural reform, decreasing energy consumption, and enforcing environmental standards to limit pollution.
