Egypt, Romania Discuss Joint Petroleum Investments

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla has met with the Romanian Ambassador to Egypt Mihai Ștefan Stuparu to discuss a number of topics including the available opportunities for cooperation and joint petroleum investments in Egypt.

During a meeting, El Molla affirmed that Egypt has an open market and it is a model gate for the African market and the East Mediterranean region. He congratulated the Romanian side for awarding the establishment of 13 gas pressure reducing stations, as part of the Haya Karima (‘Decent Life’) initiative, through a consortium that includes Total gaz- CIS gas in cooperation with Onspec Engineering. This is in addition to improving nine stations.

For his part, Stuparu praised the continuous support from the Egyptian petroleum sector which boosts the cooperation between the two sides especially in exchanging expertise and technologies. He also hailed the Haya Karima initiative and expressed his pride in being part of this project.

In addition, the Romanian ambassador expressed his pleasure for the Egyptian Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ministry’s strategy and its achievements in developing the sector which allows unique investment opportunities.
