Egypt Receives Dabaa Nuclear Safety Analysis Report from Rosatom

Russia’s State Atomic Energy Corporation (Rosatom) submitted its safety analysis report on Egypt’s El Dabaa nuclear power plant to the Egyptian Atomic Energy Authority (EAEA) in order to issue the first construction license for the plant, governmental sources told Al Borsa.

Rosatom sent several documents and studies to be reviewed by the EAEA and the committee supervising the Dabaa project, the sources said.

The Russian company will start drilling in preparation to install the reactors in the first half of 2019, while theĀ  construction license is expected to be obtained by mid-2020. Drilling and concrete building does not require a license ahead of work.
