Egypt’s Fuel Automatic Pricing Committee has adjusted the fuel prices and increased them for Q2 2023, according to a statement.
As of March 2, the prices per liter are as follows; octane 80 at EGP 8.75; octane 92 at EGP 10.25; and octane 95 at EGP 11.50. As for diesel fuel, its price will remain unchanged at EGP 7.25 per liter. The price of industrial-use mazut increased to EGP 6000 per ton. Mazut prices will remain unchanged for electricity generation and food industries.
Prices of gas fuel for cars also increased to EGP 4.50 per meter.
This decision was driven by the average prices of Brent crude in the global energy market and the value of the Egyptian pound against the US dollar.
