Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla, met with Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi, Minister of Energy of Qatar, and his accompanying delegation, on the sidelines of the ministerial meeting of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), whose activities are being held in Cairo, the ministry said in a statement.

During the meeting, the two ministers discussed joint cooperation projects and Egyptian-Qatari investments in the field of oil and gas.

The meeting witnessed a review of the current status of the projects in which the Qatari side participates in Egypt, whether in the field of gas and oil research and exploration in the Red and Mediterranean Seas or in the field of oil refining.

The two ministers highlighted the importance of continuing coordination and constructive cooperation between the two sides to develop aspects of cooperation and partnership and push them towards broader horizons in light of brotherly relations and promising opportunities.

The meeting also witnessed a discussion of coordination and cooperation between the two countries within the framework of the GECF.
