Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi met with Hilde Klemetsdal, Norway’s Ambassador to Egypt; Terje Pilskog, CEO of the Norwegian company Scatec, and the accompanying delegation.
The meeting reviewed ways to enhance cooperation between the oil and gas sector and the Norwegian company in the field of green energy. This is in light of the joint project currently being implemented to produce green ammonia in Damietta Governorate.
During the meeting, Badawi praised the existing cooperation and partnership with the Norwegian side, which possesses advanced technologies that contribute to the implementation of important strategic projects.
Badawi noted that the oil and gas sector companies possess the experience and capabilities that qualify them to implement mega-projects efficiently and at world-class standards.
For her part, Klemetsdal affirmed that Norway values the partnership with Egypt, especially in light of the strong support from the political leadership of both countries and the strong Egyptian desire to implement major projects and achieve more success stories.
Meanwhile, Pilskog reviewed the latest developments in the implementation of the green ammonia production project from green hydrogen in Damietta Governorate.
Pilskog pointed out that Egypt possesses the capabilities and geographical location that qualify it to become a major supplier of green hydrogen and green ammonia to Europe.
