President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with the CEOs of the Norwegian company Scatec, the Norwegian Investment Fund for Developing Countries (Norfund);Â and the Norwegian company Yara.
The meeting highlighted Egypt’s ambitious economic development program, emphasizing the country’s commitment to empowering the private sector and attracting increased foreign direct investment.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the President’s official visit to Norway, the second leg of his current European tour. The meeting discussed Egypt’s commitment to supporting foreign companies operating in Egypt.
El-Sisi commended the ongoing cooperation between Egypt and Norwegian companies operating in the field of green investment. He underscored Egypt’s endeavor to become a hub for green energy in the region, emphasizing its keenness on supporting all relevant projects.
For their part, the CEOs of the two Norwegian companies expressed gratitude to the President for the attention and support given to Norwegian investments in Egypt.
The meeting also focused on the opportunities for cooperation with Norfund, as well as the expansion of projects by Scatec and Yara in Egypt. Additionally, it reviewed progress in ongoing projects, and ways to enhance them.
