The Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources (MoPMR) has announced that the Egypt Mining Forum 2023 will start on Tuesday, July 18, 2023. The event will take place over two days.
The forum will host leaders of the mining industry in the region and the world, international mining companies, investors, service companies and suppliers wishing to expand their business in Egypt and the region.
The event will shed light on a roadmap to move forward in unlocking all the potentials of the mining sector in light of the achievements of the first edition of the conference, which was held in June last year.
Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla confirmed that Egypt launched an ambitious and flexible strategy to maximize the exploitation of mineral resources. This succeeded in attracting the attention of international mining companies and encouraged them to invest in Egypt.
El Molla pointed to the endeavor to double these investments in light of the availability and diversity of mineral wealth.
This year’s forum coincides with the continuous efforts of the MoPMR to develop the mining sector. The industry has witnessed significant and fundamental changes over the past years after the implementation of a successful roadmap to reform and develop the sector.
Today, the mining sector has gained a significant boost and recognition as a fruitful destination for mining investors.
El Molla stated that the current year is witnessing a lot of momentum in attracting more international mining companies and developing partnerships with global mining investors.
The minister highlighted Egypt’s interest in expanding manufacturing projects from mineral raw materials to increase the added value of Egypt’s mineral wealth. He added that the country has launched a number of projects that work to achieve this goal.
The forum will witness a wide participation of companies and institutions involved in mining activities, financing and consulting institutions, government officials and experts.
The event’s activities will include many sessions with the participation of a large number of speakers, observers, and officials from international and Egyptian companies.
