Egypt Links 9.8 M Households to Natural Gas Grid

Egypt has linked a total of 9.8 million households to the national natural gas grid since the project was initiated in 2009 until the end of March 2019, said Tarek El Molla, Minister of Petroleum, Egypt Oil & Gas reports.

The country plans to boost the number of linked houses to a total of 10 million households by the end of June 2019, El Molla noted, during the regular meeting he chaired to follow up on the updates of the national project that links residential units to the natural gas grid.

Egypt has established new networks to be able to connect 1.9 million households during the period from January 2018 until the end of March 2019.

The country extended delivering natural gas to 75 areas and plans to increase this to 85 areas during fiscal year (FY) 2019/20.
