Egypt Highlights Africa’s Energy Potential at WEIF 2024 in Bahrain

President of the General Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce Ahmed El Wakil has stated that it is time for the African nations to focus on our intra-trade and joint investments, especially with its oil and gas resources, El Ahram Newspaper reported.

At the World Entrepreneurs Investment Forum (WEIF) 2024 being held in Bahrain, he pointed out that Africa boasts 50% of the world’s stock of plutonium, cobalt, and diamonds, 11% of its oil, 6% of its gas, and 4% of its coal. This is in addition to its industrial exports, which have doubled in the past decade to exceed $100 billion.

While some rightly see some challenges in the field of energy, environment, and climate change, Egypt sees them as new investment and commercial opportunities, El Wakil said.

Moreover, El Wakil noted that Africa offers the Arab world promising opportunities, as it is the second largest continent in terms of population, representing one-eighth of the world’s population.
