A roundtable was held with the participation of Egyptian and German ministers and companies, during which opportunities and priorities for bilateral cooperation in energy and hydrogen were discussed and reviewed, the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources said in a statement.
The roundtable was attended by Tarek El Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources; Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation; Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Public Business Sector; Ahmed Mohina, Senior Undersecretary of the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy for Strategic Planning and International Cooperation, on behalf of Mohamed Shaker, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy; and Stefan Wenzel, Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs and Climate Action of the Federal Republic of Germany for Parliamentary Affairs.
German companies’ representatives expressed their desire to cooperate and invest in Egypt and take advantage of the unique opportunities, especially since Egypt is developing greatly in energy projects.
The roundtable further reviewed the German side’s desire to cooperate with Egypt in the field of liquefied natural gas (LNG), which is the most important option for the energy transition phase to provide energy in an environmentally responsible manner, through the Egyptian role as a regional gas trading, circulation and transportation hub to Europe.
