The Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla, met with Eric Rasmussen, director of natural resources at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), in order to discuss cooperation in the oil and gas field, Egypt Oil & Gas reports.
During the meeting, the minister and his guest reviewed the operational steps taken in the national project to turn Egypt into a regional oil and gas trading hub. EBRD officials praised the steps that Egypt has taken in the project. They also affirmed their full support for the project, which will play an important role in finding additional sources to contribute to securing Europe’s natural gas demands.
The participants also discussed the progress of the economic reform program, which contributed positively to achieving good indicators during the recent period and their reflection on the achievements of the oil and gas sector.
The minister and his guests discussed the possibility of the EBRD financing projects that aim to expand the use of compressed natural gas as fuel for cars.
