Egypt, East Timor Strengthen Cooperation in Oil, Gas Industries

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla met with Francisco Da Costa Monteiro, Minister of Petroleum of East Timor, during the second day of Egypt Energy Show (EGYPES 2024).

The meeting dealt with means of cooperation between the two countries and utilizing Egypt’s expertise in developing oil and gas sector in East Timor.

Monteiro affirmed the country’s openness to cooperation and benefiting from Egyptian expertise acknowledging the development achieved in the oil and gas industry and the distinguished expertise it possesses in research, exploration, petroleum refining and the petrochemical industry.

For his part, El Molla expressed his pride in the trust placed in the country’s oil and gas industry and its expertise, highlighting the various opportunities for cooperation in manufacturing, research, exploration, engineering work, and project implementation.

He also expressed the readiness of the petroleum sector to receive the cadres from East Timor for training and to benefit from Egypt’s expertise in various oil and gas sectors.

The meeting was attended by Alaa Hagar, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources for the Technical Office.
