The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources is participating from 11 – 13 June in an international conference in Paris addressing the role of natural gas in the Mediterranean Region, with Minister Tarek El Molla as a keynote speaker, Al-Ahram reported.
The conference is organized by the Observatoire Méditerranéen de l’Energie (OME) in cooperation with the European Union (EU). More than 40 companies are participating in the event with a number of oil and gas ministers, international oil companies (IOCs), and the head of the European Commission.
El Molla will be focusing on Egypt’s strategy in oil and gas and the available investment opportunities, especially with the French companies presented. The minister will also be participating in a session highlighting the Egyptian natural gas sector, in addition to reviewing the most important reforms and achievements carried out by the Egyptian government during the last period.
Egypt’s participation in the conference comes in line with its keenness to strengthen its strategic partnerships in the energy field with both the EU and Mediterranean countries to support its position as a regional energy hub and reinforce its cooperation with France.
