The Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum will sign the agreement for establishing the natural gas pipeline between Egypt and Cyprus on September 19, ministry spokesman Hamdy Abdel Aziz told Al Masry Al Youm.
The underwater natural gas pipeline will be the first of its type in the region, Cypriot energy minister, Yiorgos Lakkotrypis, said.
A representative from the European Union is expected to attend the signing ceremony.
Egypt had previously reached an agreement with Cyprus on the pipeline connecting the Aphrodite gas field in block 12 to Egypt.
