Egypt, BP to Form Cooperation Committee

Egyptian Minister of Petroleum Tarek El Molla met with BP’s Head of Supply and Trading, Alan Haywood, to form a joint committee that will study opportunities for future cooperation, Egypt Oil & Gas reports.

El Molla and Haywood’s meeting was also attended by the following delegation: the Ministry’s First Undersecretary, Mohamed Saafan, head of the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) Abed Ezz El Regal, and head of Arab Petroleum Pipelines Company (SUMED) Mohamed Abdel Hafez.

During the meeting, El Molla and his guests discussed BP’s opportunities to participate in ship refueling and refinement activities. They also discussed how to best utilize refined products and improving their specifications, as well as constructing petroleum products storage warehouses.

El Molla said that the meeting continued the London talks that took place in February 2018, and coincides with the plan to transform Egypt into a regional energy trading hub.
