The Higher Organizing Committee of the Sixth Egypt International Petroleum Conference and Exhibition (EGYPS 2023) held its first meeting chaired by Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla to discuss the ongoing preparations for this annual event scheduled to take place 13-15 February 2023 in Cairo.

During the meeting, the most important themes of the conference were also reviewed, which focus on important topics for the industry that keep pace with the current global changes affecting the energy sector, foremost of which is environmental sustainability in the field of energy as this year’s conference comes in the wake of Egypt’s organization of COP 27.

The meeting further reviewed the topics of hydrogen, management and carbon reduction in industry, digitization and social responsibility, as well as basic topics such as investment, financing, energy equality, sustainability of energy resources, and securing supplies in the face of current global challenges that affect the global energy map, with an interest in highlighting the role of the African continent in securing energy resources for the world.

El Molla stated that the EGYPS was able, during the past editions, to bring together all parties of the petroleum industry locally, regionally, and internationally, as well as producers and consumers. The minister highlighted the importance of preparing for the organization and good preparation for EGYPS to remain an important destination for major international companies interested in investing in Egypt and the region, and open up great opportunities to enhance Egypt’s petroleum cooperation with success partners and promote the successes and investment opportunities of the oil and gas industry.

The event, in its sixth edition, is expected to witness the attendance of more than 32,000 participants, more than 290 speakers from officials, experts and heads of companies, 70 specialized discussion sessions, high-level attendance of 11 ministers of petroleum and energy, seven general secretaries of international energy organizations and 14 presidents of major international companies.
