The Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC), led by Chairman Alaa El Batal, conducted an on-site review of the development efforts in the occupational safety, health, and environmental protection (HSE) system at the Nasr Petroleum Company (NPC) and Suez Oil Processing Company (SOPC) refineries.
This review is part of the continuous effort to enhance the performance of the HSE system, in line with the directives of Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, and in accordance with the safety work strategy in the petroleum sector.
During the visit, the HSE delegation from EGPC, along with Mohamed Abdullah, NPC Chairman, and the company’s safety work team, followed up on all projects and work to develop the industrial safety and environmental protection system within NPC.
This included early warning systems and automatic extinguishing of warehouses, distillation devices, and treatment units, safety studies for the company’s units, the new industrial wastewater treatment plant project, and the new oil separation basin unit.
During the field follow-up at SOPC, the HSE team met with the Hisham Fathi, SOPC Chairman, and the company’s safety work team, who reviewed the work of the safety system in the refinery’s development projects.
They reviewed the safety systems within the framework of developing production units, chemical plants, warehouses, workshops, the fleet of transport vehicles, alarm systems and automatic fire extinguishing, and examined the company’s capabilities of firefighting equipment and the executive position of the new industrial wastewater treatment plant project.
