A high-level delegation from the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) visited WEPCO’s Badr-1 oil fields.
The group, which included EGPC Deputy Chairman for Production Tamer Idris, toured the production facilities and assessed the site’s capabilities. They were joined by WEPCO Chairman and Managing Director Ibrahim Massoud, EGPC Executive Vice President for Agreements and Exploration Mohamed Mohy, and EGPC Chairman’s Assistant for HSE Tamer Aieysh.
The visit aimed to evaluate the progress of modernization and development projects at the site.
The tour came within the framework of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources (MoPMR) strategy for field follow-up and maintaining a strong presence among workers at work and production sites.
The leaders inspected the automatic control and shutdown systems designed for emergency situations. These facilities are equipped with the latest technologies, enabling real-time monitoring of crude oil and gas processing. This aligns with the Ministry’s directives to implement digital transformation and enhance process safety management.
During the visit, Massoud delivered an explanatory presentation on the workflow at the site. He highlighted WEPCO’s ongoing commitment to enhancing efficiency and capabilities, as well as plans to develop and increase production at the Badr-1 site.
The Badr site team also presented the developmental and exploratory opportunities available to boost production. An ambitious plan has been outlined, which includes drilling three exploratory wells and six development appraisal wells in the upcoming phase. The plan also aims to leverage and develop the existing infrastructure at the Badr-1 site.
