The Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) held a workshop to explain the framework agreement for database licenses signed between EGPC and Oracle Corporation, as part of supporting digital transformation projects in cooperation with the most important global technology partners.
The agreement provides unlimited access to software, licenses, and services for sector companies. It reflects EGPC’s commitment to offering the latest solutions and programs from major suppliers at competitive prices, ensuring that all current and future software needs are properly licensed and supported.
The workshop was attended by Khaled Salah El Din, Chairman’s Assistant for Information Technology and Digital Transformation at the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources (MoPMR); Iman Wafy, EGPC Chairman Assistant for Information Technology & Telecommunications; Alaa El Maraghy. Assistant Chairman for Information & Communication Systems at the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS).
Salah El Din explained that the joining of a new group of companies to the agreement comes within the framework of digital transformation efforts that aim to provide greater protection for petroleum sector data, regulate all licenses and programs used, provide the greatest possible technical support to companies, and is an important step in implementing work governance within the sector.
Meanwhile, Wafy noted that the workshop, which includes representatives of information systems; technology and communications in petroleum companies, is dedicated to introducing the agreement and the advantages it offers, the most important of which is fixing the price of services in Egyptian pounds for three years.
