EGPC Board Reviews Strategies to Ramp Up Oil, Gas Output

The Board of Directors of the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) held its meeting via video conference chaired by Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi.

During the meeting, EGPC’s Chairman Salah Abdel Kerim and his Deputy for Financial and Economic Affairs Amal Tantawi reviewed the topics on the agenda that serve to increase investment, drive oil and gas production, and provide financing needs.

The meeting was attended by Kamel El-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development, Minister of Industry and Transport; Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy; Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development, and representatives from the Ministry of Finance.

Badawi explained at the beginning of the meeting that the ministry is continuing work to attract investment partners to boost local oil and gas production. He highlighted the efforts made by the Ministry in this regard, including paying the monthly bill for partners’ dues and fulfilling obligations towards them, and working to provide incentives to accelerate field development, accelerate production, and new exploration work.

Badawi pointed out the strength of the integrated work taking place between the Ministry and various government ministries as one working team, which supports the Ministry’s role in facing challenges and increasing local production.
