The Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) and TAQA Arabia signed a cooperation protocol to deliver natural gas to El Wadi El Gedid by utilizing compressed natural gas (CNG), according to a press release.
The Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla, witnessed the signing and stated that the deal aligns with the ministry’s strategy to make natural gas available to residents and to gradually replace butane cylinders with natural gas. El Molla noted that CNG is the optimum choice for the governorate as its location is away from the natural gas grid.
Per the agreement, the project feed CNG to the main stations and carry out all necessary procedures in preparation for the first phase of delivery to 14,000 housing units in Kharga.
Mohamed El Zalmot, the Governer of El Wadi El Gedid, commended the project, noting that making natural gas available to residents is on the list of governorate’s top priorities.
He added that the governorate is working to complete all procedures and provide the facilities necessary to complete the project as soon as possible.
