The Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) secured 2.1 trillion cubic feet (Tcf) of natural gas during fiscal year (FY) 2017/18, Egypt Oil & Gas reports.
EGAS head, Osama El Bakly, revealed the new figure during the general assembly held with Minister of Petroleum Tarek El Molla to review the company’s results in the previous financial year.
El Bakly also said during the meeting that electricity-generating power plants accounted for 63% of the country’s natural gas consumption during FY 2017/18.
