The Egyptian Company for Mineral Resources (ECMR) targets increasing production to a total of about 593,000 tons of various ores, especially phosphate, along with other minerals like quartz and talc in addition to expanding the scope of targeted ores at the Wadi Al-Shaghab site to achieve higher production rates, and start working on tin ore for the first time, according to the company’s chairman, Amr Hassan duringĀ ECMR’s general assembly meeting chaired by Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawi.
Hassan added that the company is seeking to improve product quality to achieve added value and increase its marketing and competitive capabilities to meet the needs of the local market.
Established in 2003, ECMR serves as the economic arm of the Mineral Resources and Mining Industries Authority. The company is dedicated to developing and managing Egypt’s mineral resources.
