EBRD Praises Egypt’s Progress in the Energy Field

Mark Bowman, Vice President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for Policies and Partnerships, praised Egyptian efforts in the field of energy as well as its progress in development.

Bowman stated that during his meeting the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla on the sidelines of Egypt Energy Show (EGYPES) 2024.

Bowman stressed on the EBRD’s support to Egypt through financing and policy dialogue to help promote a green, sustainable, and inclusive economy. He explained that the bank is keen on supporting Egypt in maximizing the role of the private sector in decarbonization projects, the production of new and renewable energies, energy efficiency policies, energy and digital transformation projects, and the localization of technology.

While the Minister EL Molla stressed the excellence of the relationship between Egypt and EBRD, as Egypt is a founding member of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and the two sides have joint projects and large investments in a number of fields and are keen to increase them.
